The location of the PSMA6 gene occurs in a region containing microsatellites that have been implicated in coronary artery disease (CAD) (Alsmadi et al., 2009), type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) (Sjakste et al., 2007), Grave’s disease (Sjakste et al., 2004), asthma (Zemeckiene et al., 2015), ankylosing spondylitis (Zhao et al., 2015), and myocardial infarction (Liu et al., 2009). Here, PSMA6 is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
