A PK study conducted with atorvastatin-related myopathy cases found that elevated AUCs of atorvastatin lactone and p-hydroxyatorvastatin lactone among patients suffering from atorvastatin-related myopathy were not associated with SLCO1B1 polymorphisms or CK levels (Hermann et al., 2006). The gene discussed is SLCO1B1; the disease is myopathy.
