This discordant behavior in CD8+ T-cells has been shown in disorders associated with mutations in LYST gene like Chediak-Higashi syndrome and some forms of hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (62, 75), characterized by defects in proteins regulating cytotoxic lymphocyte degranulation and shown to reduce surface CD107a expression (76–78). The gene discussed is LAMP1; the disease is hemophagocytic syndrome.
