TNF and pulmonary edema: Due to the activation of T cells, a common side effect observed post-administration of OKT3 is the induction of a cytokine storm, which results in systemic release of inflammatory cytokines, predominantly interferon-γ (IFN-γ) and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), which may cause a variety of adverse clinical conditions including, organ failure and pulmonary edema (31–33).
