Recently, a study conducted by Chen et al. [12] focused on the impact of glucose-lowering medications on the clinical outcomes of patients with diabetes and COVID-19, showing that insulin users had a greater risk of a composite outcome of progression to severe or critical illness and in-hospital death compared with non-insulin users (OR 3.58, 95% CI 1.37–9.35, p = 0.009). Here, INS is linked to diabetes mellitus.
