As per compression/expansion isocycling, spiking N-94 or N-94/C-6 into anti-C-term lacritin-depleted normal tears was fully corrective (Fig. 2A), but only partially so in dry eye tears in which the initial reading was elevated (respectively ∼1.2 and 1.6 mN/m) but then fell off precipitously with relaxation (Fig. 2B). The gene discussed is LACRT; the disease is Keratoconjunctivitis sicca.
