CDH1 and neoplasm: Though treated and untreated tumor cells appeared grossly similar and E-cadherin transcript levels (CDH1) did not appear to be acutely modulated by ALK4L75A-Fc in MDA-MB-231 xenografts (Fig. 5a), end stage tumors expressing ALK4L75A-Fc stained more strongly for E-cadherin protein (compared for instance to endogenous mammary ducts (d)), consistent with ongoing reversal of EMT and promotion of a more differentiated phenotype over the longer term (Fig. 5b).
