Howson et al. [23] found a diverse TRBV repertoire from TRAV1-2+ T cells by utilizing samples from a controlled human infection model of the invasive bacterial pathogen Salmonella paratyphi A in healthy volunteers, and specific infection-expanded TRAV1-2+ with TRBV6-1/TRBJ2-3 transfection T cells can sense Escherichia coli and Salmonella paratyphi A culture supernatants. The gene discussed is TRAV1-2; the disease is infection.
