Although mRNA expression of MCT1 or CD163 alone was not significantly associated with overall survival (data not shown) or recurrence-free survival (Supplementary Figures 2A,B), there was a significant correlation between MCT1 and CD163 expression (Supplementary Figure 2C) and between the high mRNA expression of both MCT1 and CD163 and shorter overall survival (Supplementary Figure 2D), which may be a potential prognostic marker for breast cancer.
