While our results demonstrate that IL-6 is also a crucial factor for KC maintenance and survival in early stages of the regenerative process as well as for tumor clearance, complex IIb formation and subsequent apoptosis might be seen as a way to regulate KC activity following PH and avoid oversignalization via complex I, NF-κB activation, continuous inflammation, and damages in the regenerating organ.
