In rats fed a high-fat diet (NAFLD), the protein levels of PPAR-α, CPT-1, and CPT-2 were downregulated while that of SREBP-1c was elevated (P < 0.05), suggesting the inhibition of PPAR-α and activation of SREBP-1c. The gene discussed is CPT2; the disease is metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
