SOAT1 and COVID-19: It has been recognized that cytokines can activate JAK‐STAT pathway and regulate different cellular and immune processes.[45, 46] Clinical studies reported Ruxolitinib, a JAK inhibitor, can effectively relieve the symptoms of patients with severe COVID‐19.[47, 48] In combination with these findings, it might suggest the feasibility to develop new therapeutics against SARS‐CoV‐2 by targeting JAK‐STAT signaling pathway in microvascular endothelium.
