For low-risk cancers, the imaging studies obtained after thyroid remnant ablation with RAI do not add any further information about residual disease or risk of recurrence as compared to follow-up with ultrasound and thyroglobulin (Tg) [89], and RAI does not seem to add any advantage in terms of survival or risk of recurrence for these tumors with an already low recurrence rate [90,91]. This evidence concerns the gene TG and cancer.
