Considering the inhibitory function of TIM-3 in the T cell immune response and the important role of the TIM-3 rs1036199 and rs10515746 SNPs in immune regulation and susceptibility to autoimmune diseases, we hypothesized that these genetic variants may also affect the immunopathology, disease progression, and clinical outcome of patients with sepsis. Here, HAVCR2 is linked to autoimmune disease.
