Since anti-PD-1 antibody is able to bind the inhibitory receptor FcγRIIb, we imagined a scenario in which a particular subset of TAMs expressing the inhibitory receptor FcγRIIb undergoes functional reprogramming after interaction with the Fc domain of the anti-PD-1 antibody acquiring enhanced pro-tumor properties, eventually inducing HPD [29].
