Previously, we reported that JMJD2B enhances PPARγ2 expression by removing the repressive histone marks H3K9me2 and H3K9me3 in the promoter of PPARγ2, stimulating the expression of PPARγ2 and its steatosis target genes such as CD36 and FABP, resulting in the development of hepatic steatosis [15]. The gene discussed is PPARG; the disease is steatosis.
