Cox proportional hazard analysis showed that high D-dimer level was also a significant determinant (D-dimer ≥ 0.5 mg/L, adjusted HR: 1.75, P = 0.015) after adjustment of gender, age, underlying disease (Hypertension, Diabetes, Heart Disease and Cancer) and other risk factors in the blood (CRP, PCT and LDH), which means D-dimer is the independent predictor of COVID-19 mortality. Here, CRP is linked to hypertensive disorder.
