We specifically considered CAD, peripheral artery disease (PAD), ischemic stroke (IS), and abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA), as well as pre-specified non-atherosclerotic diseases, including T2D, dementia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and cancer, which are common in the clinical population likely to be treated with PCSK9 inhibitors. Here, PCSK9 is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
