One report showed overexpression of hnRNPB1 correlated with the eventual development of lung cancer (49) and the mRNA is reported to be elevated in lung cancer tissue and it has been hypothesized to play a role in early carcinogenesis from a histological study of lung cancer specimens (50), but there is no clearly defined role of hnRNPB1 in cancers. The gene discussed is HNRNPA2B1; the disease is lung carcinoma.
