Consistently, ethanol fed liver-specific deletion of SIRT1 (Sirt1LKO) promotes ethanol-mediated liver fibrosis in the livers, as indicated by increased levels of α-SMA and early markers of hepatic fibrosis such as collagen I, tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase 1 (Timp-1), or TGF-β115. This evidence concerns the gene SIRT1 and Hepatic fibrosis.
