B3GNT2 and ankylosing spondylitis: Supporting the connection of B3GNT2 and the immune system, genome-wide association studies revealed that single nucleotide polymorphisms reducing B3GNT2 expression are associated with autoimmune diseases including rheumatoid arthritis (11) in Japanese population and ankylosing spondylitis (12) and psoriasis (13) in people of European descent.
