First, SARS-CoV-2 infection might alter the expression of several key inflammatory genes: IRAK3, which is associated with asthma [68,89,90]; ADRB2, which is an essential genetic factor for asthma [69,91]; and NFKBIA, which shows critical transcriptional responses in childhood asthma [92]. The gene discussed is IRAK3; the disease is childhood onset asthma.
