Many conserved DD genes were related to carcinogenesis in brain cells which may contribute to the sex-specific predisposition to various types of brain tumor, including those based on oncogenes Nras [36] and Alkbh5 [37] and genes associated with tumor cell proliferation and/or metastasis in the brain such as Spry2 [38] and Cryab [39, 40].
