Although not yet adequate for use in clinical settings, the description of a panel of 38 CpGDM associated with breast cancer in the discovery sample and the validation of CYFIP1 as candidate biomarker in a larger sample demonstrates the potential of blood DNA methylation for development of non‐invasive applications for detection of sporadic breast cancer biomarker in a Latin American population. This evidence concerns the gene CYFIP1 and breast carcinoma.
