In conclusion, this study highlights that, in these differing ethnic populations, that whilst cardiovascular risk indices were increased for both PCOS cohorts, this may be for different reasons: with BMI, waist and hip measurements, systolic and diastolic blood pressure and triglycerides higher in the UK cohort while testosterone, HDL and CRP were higher in the Middle Eastern population. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and polycystic ovary syndrome.
