Ipilimumab with sargramostim (granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor or GM-CSF)—a cytokine increasing antigen presentation by dendritic cells and antitumor activity of T- and B-lymphocyte populations—have been associated with similar efficacy but, interestingly, with better tolerance of ipilimumab alone in metastatic melanoma [119,120]. The gene discussed is CSF2; the disease is metastatic melanoma.
