Higher apoA1 in HDL that lacked apoC3 was related to a lower prevalence of NAFLD (OR per SD: 0.80; 95% CI: 0.72, 0.89), whereas no association was found for apoA1 in HDL that contained apoC3 (OR per SD: 0.95; 95% CI: 0.85, 1.05; Pheterogeneity = 0.09). This evidence concerns the gene APOC3 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
