CCL2 and COVID-19: Studies have shown that higher plasma levels of Interleukin 2 (IL2), Interleukin 7 (IL7), Interleukin 10 (IL10), Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (GCSF), Interferon gamma-induced protein 10 (IP10), monocyte chemoattractant protein 1 (MCP1), Macrophage Inflammatory Proteins 1A (MIP1A), and Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha (TNFα) were found in intensive care unit (ICU) patients compared to non-ICU patients [9,10], supporting the evidence which attributes severe cases of COVID-19 to an intense immune response.
