Knockdown of Bag3 in the zebrafish model using morpholino-modified antisense oligonucleotides resulted in the development of cardiac contractile dysfunction and cardiomyopathy [9] as well as a contraction-dependent myofibrillar disintegration and skeletal muscle dysfunction, two of the characteristics of BAG3-related myofibrillar myopathies (MFM) [10, 11]. This evidence concerns the gene BAG3 and cardiomyopathy.
