In mice with collagen-induced arthritis (CIA), systemic infusion of hAMSCs markedly reduces Th1-driven autoimmunity and inflammation, as shown by decreased production of TNF-α, IFN-γ, and some interleukins (IL-2 and IL-17) and increased production of IL-10 and activation of cyclooxygenase 1/2 (COX1/2) (56).
