In an attempt to increase the frequency of metastasis, WAP-Myc tumor cells were orthotopically syngrafted to recipient mice and, to give more time for metastatic tumors to develop, primary tumors were surgically resected after reaching a volume of 750 mm3 (Fig. 1a), similar to the approach taken by Doornebal et al. for the conditional K14cre;Cdh1F/F;Trp53F/F mouse model14.
