Most published articles reveal a correlation of oxidative stress/oxidative damage and inflammatory biomarkers, e.g., malondialdehyde (MDA), 4-hydroxy-2 (E)-nonenal (4-HNE), the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C-reactive protein (CRP), and the inflammatory cytokines interleukin (IL)-6 and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α with sarcopenia in older adults [22,23,24]. Here, TNF is linked to sarcopenia.
