Studies have shown that ICAM-1 in mammary duct epithelium and endothelial cells play an important role in PCM inflammation.[11] However, at present, scholars have not reached a consensus on the etiology of PCM, most of the debates focus on immune,[12] nipple congenital malformation, and so on, such as Liu et al show that IL-6/STAT3 signaling pathway is activated in PCM, and it is speculated that it plays an important role in the pathogenesis of PCM. The gene discussed is IL6; the disease is paracoccidioidomycosis.
