The analysis identified the following independent risk factors for AKI in patients with COVID-19: age 65 to 84 years (OR 1.67, 95% CI 1.11, 2.50), age ≥85 years (OR 1.66, 95% CI 1.01, 2.71), CCF (OR 1.72, 95% CI 1.18, 2.50), chronic liver disease (OR 3.43, 95% CI 1.17, 10.00), CKD (OR 2.81, 95% CI 1.97, 4.01), and needing mechanical ventilation (OR 8.74, 95% CI 5.17, 14.77) (Table 2). This evidence concerns the gene PITX1 and acute kidney injury.
