Of interest and relevance is data from a recent study from our group, and that of others, using a similar model of asthma, has shown that treatment with selective EGFR inhibitors inhibited the EGFR-dependent signaling pathway and also reduced eosinophil recruitment, airway inflammation, AHR, and goblet cell hyper/metaplasia (Song L. et al., 2016; El-Hashim, 2017). This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and asthma.
