Mutations in RAS (KRAS and NRAS) in exon 2 (codon 12, 13), 3 (codon 59, 61) and 4 (codon 117, 146) occur in 55–60% of colorectal cancer (CRC) patients1 and have been associated with poor survival2. The gene discussed is KRAS; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
