We have previously shown that the addition of Gas6 to the brains of cuprizone-treated mice enhances remyelination, and when administered to myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG)-sensitized C57Bl/6J mice, it significantly improves the clinical outcome and recovery from MOG-induced experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) [22, 23]. The gene discussed is MOG; the disease is experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis.
