EGFR mutations are particularly common in non-smoking Asian female patients with adenocarcinoma.[5,6] EGFR mutations are most frequently located in exons 19 and 21; indeed, exon 19 in-frame deletions and the exon 21 L858R point mutation account for 90% of all EGFR somatic mutations (collectively referred to as classical mutations).
