While various antioxidant enzymes depletion, including superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase, and GSH, often occurred in pancreatitis, it is acknowledged that the replenishment of antioxidant agents, e.g. NAC, have been recognized as a feasible idea for acute pancreatitis therapy (Atayoglu, 2016).
