In the view of central nervous system, the most commonly reported brain tumors with BRAF mutation include pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (PXA) (60%), extra-cerebellar pilocytic astrocytoma (20%) and ganglioglioma (20% to 60%) for low grade (WHO I-II), PXA with anaplastic features (60%) (21, 47–49) for higher grade (WHO III). This evidence concerns the gene BRAF and brain neoplasm.
