Subsets of hyperphagic but with a normal BMI, characteristic symptoms related to food (gorging and vomiting, stealing food, nocturnal searching for food) and polydipsia, and non-hyperphagic children were subsequently evaluated over a three week hospitalization to test for spontaneous changes in GH secretion or to stimulation testing (none to both groups). This evidence concerns the gene GH1 and Polydipsia.
