The progression of AH includes remission, spontaneous or pharmacological resolution of the inflammation, or progressive diffuse destruction with glandular atrophy for fibrotic replacement, thus resulting in varying degrees of pituitary dysfunction (1) and symptoms of hypopituitarism, including low ACTH, low TSH, low gonadotropins, or low prolactin (5).
