The drug has been recently repurposed as a promising anti-cancer drug by regulating the degradation of ikaros (also known as ikaros family zinc finger 1 (Ikzf1)) and aiolos (also known as ikaros family zinc finger 3 (Ikzf3)) transcription factors in multiple myeloma, which are required for growth of the tumor [269,270]. This evidence concerns the gene IKZF1 and plasma cell myeloma.
