Furthermore, the pattern of expression of EGR1, EGR2, EGR3, and EBI2 genes, in these patients, showed that patients with a high level of EBI2, also exhibited marked upregulation of EGR1, EGR2, and EGR3 (Figure 1), implying that the EGR gene upregulation was linked with EBI2 upregulation, and maybe related to EBV infection/reactivation in these patients. The gene discussed is EGR3; the disease is Epstein-Barr virus infection.
