For instance, the CD8+ (cytotoxic) T cells suppress the progression of various lymphomas, such as Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-positive Hodgkin’s lymphoma [36], follicular lymphoma [18], and B-cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma [37]; however, in CD8+ lymphomas, these cells are malignantly transformed and their proliferation/stimulation is associated with disease progression [38,39].
