In a meta-analysis conducted by Bakhshayeshkaram et al. [64], CoQ10 supplementation significantly reduced total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, malondialdehyde (MDA), and creatinine levels but had no effect on fasting glucose, insulin homeostatic model assessment of insulin resistance, and C-reactive protein (CRP) concentrations in patients diagnosed with CKD. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and Insulin resistance.
