Although previous studies revealed the potential of anti-PD-1/PD-L1 monoclonal antibodies as canine cancer treatment agents, only one pilot study of a chimeric antibody targeting canine PD-L1 showed the safety profile and clinical response in one out of seven oral malignant melanoma cases and one out of two undifferentiated sarcoma cases20. The gene discussed is CD274; the disease is undifferentiated (embryonal) sarcoma.
