Carotid atherosclerosis have been studied in 3 separate intercrosses, including B6 x C3H, B6 x BALB/c, and BALB/c x SM Apoe−/− F2s, and 8 significant QTL have been found (Li et al. 2008),(Grainger et al. 2017) (Rowlan et al. 2013a). This evidence concerns the gene APOE and carotid atherosclerosis.
