A single Gxθ locus(rs31313229, p = 2.91E-06) on chromosome 3 (Fig 3C) contains the gene Lphn2, which has a role in the promotion of cellular adhesion in response to external stimuli.[35] Crucially, none of these loci, many of which contain candidates of particular interest or relevance to heart failure, were reported in the original study, suggesting the possibility of new targets for further therapeutic research.
