Obeticholic acid (OCA) is an FXR agonist that has been tested in animal models as well as in humans with NASH.19 In the FLINT phase II study, patients with NASH and without cirrhosis were randomized to treatment with either OCA (25 mg) or placebo for 72 weeks.
